once again sustained force not impact. an f1 car can sustain a downforce of twice its weight but when it so much as clips another car or the wall it shreds until nothing but the cockpit is left. this is both through design and the damage capacity of carbon fibre. think of it this way; the femur is the strongest bone in the human body, its capable of supporting the weight of a vw beetle. but if you landed wrong you risk snapping it or even shattering it altogether.

u cant layup carbon fiber and get that glossy finish right out of the mold unless ur vacuum bagging.

I’m looking to do an outer carbon fiber layer on my rifle stock. How hard do you think this would be if possible? (Might have to use a vacuum bag as the “mold” if that would work.
